Types of implant prostheses
Prosthesis on removable fixed implants
By far the best treatment in the complete prosthesis. Individualized implant supported bar machined from titanium of light surgical type, monobloc, biocompatible for complete prosthesis.
Important points
- - Patient finds almost 100% of his masticatory capacity
- - Very precise treatment
- - Teamwork between the implantologist, the denturologist and the dental laboratory
- - Stimulates bones and decreases the rate of bone resorption
- - No contact between the prosthesis and the gum
- - Stable stability and what represents the most a natural dentition
Prosthesis on mini implants
There is now a cheaper alternative of implants for stabilizing prostheses. Since 2005, we make dentures on "mini-implants", often used for those who do not have much bone anymore. It is a miniature titanium implant (compatible with the human body) that replaces the root of your tooth. It holds with an anchor that is inserted into the base of your prosthesis. The head of the implant is spherical and the anchor device contains a rubber seal. The spherical head seals into the joint when the prosthesis is in place and holds it in position at a predetermined cut. When in place, the prosthesis gently lays on the gingival tissue. The implants allow the prosthesis to make micromovements while resisting the natural forces of traction.
Recommendation
4 mini-implants for the maxillary and 6 mini-implants for the dible
Partial prosthesis on implants
It is important to plan this long-term treatment. This treatment is the gateway to implantology because it is possible to add implants after a few years to transform it into a fixed prosthesis.
Implanted gingival prosthesis
Complete prosthesis supported by the genvice and implants but also retained by means of spherical titanium fasteners and nylon in the easily replaceable prosthesis.
Immediate temporary prosthesis (on implants)
This prosthesis is designed after extractions and the installation of dental implants in the same appointment. This allows for better healing and osteointegration of implants before designing the permanent prosthesis. The importance of a transitional prosthesis is to have teeth at all times. Therapeutic cushions can be made to improve healing and comfort.
Important points
Types of prosthesis bars
Montreal Bar and Wrap Around
The Montreal Bar and Wrap Around are one of the most comfortable of all fixed prosthesis solutions. The patient no longer needs to remove the prosthesis.
Countersunk Bar and Double Structure
The milled bar is an implant-retained retention bar that allows the prosthesis to be retained by means of spherical titanium fasteners and easily replaceable nylons.
Dolder and Hader Bar
The Dolder and Hader Bars are gingival-implanto barrels worn in a 'U' shape. The retention of the bars is used by riders retention, either metal, plastic or gold.
Paris and fixed bar
The Paris bar differs from other bars and normal ball fasteners. These are screwed on the bar so they can be changed easily. For this implant-worn bar, there is no gingival peripheral contact.
